Information Security Policy

To protect Aksa Carbon information assets against all kinds of threats that may occur from inside  and/or outside, intentionally or unintentionally, to ensure accessibility to information as required  by business processes, to meet legal and regulatory requirements, to work towards continuous  improvement, and to ensure the continuity of the three basic elements of the effective Information  Security Management System (ISMS) in all activities carried out;

  • Confidentiality: Preventing unauthorized access to sensitive information,
  • Integrity: Demonstrating that the accuracy and integrity of information is ensured, • Availability: Demonstrating that authorized persons can access information when necessary

Aksa Carbon is committed;

To take care of the security of not only the data kept electronically, but also all data in written,  printed, verbal and similar media,

To raise awareness by providing Information Security Management trainings to all personnel,

Reporting all actual or suspicious vulnerabilities in Information Security to the ISMS Team and  ensuring that they are investigated by the team,

Prepare, maintain and test business continuity plans,

To identify existing risks by making periodic assessments on Information Security; to review and  follow up action plans as a result of the assessments,

Preventing any disputes and conflicts of interest that may arise from contracts. Meeting business requirements for information accessibility and information systems,

To carry out competitive but quality-compromising work with innovative thinking by following the  innovations in the IT sector,

To offer high quality, affordable products to the market with high quality elements that will ensure  customer satisfaction at the highest level,

To ensure that the products we put on the market fully comply with all national and international  requirements,

Working in accordance with national and international requirements,

To ensure the effective implementation of the ISMS system at all stages and to carry out the  necessary training activities to raise the awareness of ISMS of all employees in our organization,

To providing the necessary resources for the effective implementation and continuous improvement  of our risk-based quality system.

Enviromental Policy

  • We abide by all the legal regulations and other conditions regarding  environmental management.
  • All of the natural resources and energy required for our activities are used in the  most efficient way possible and are constantly supervised. We implement policies  aimed at improving the performance of our environmental management system.
  • In all of our company’s processes we aim at sustainable development and use the  technologies that are the most appropriate and environmentally friendly.
  • We behave sensitively and efficiently towards preventing pollution. We reduce at  the source all effects on the environment resulting from our activities. We aim for  the lowest possible effect on the environment by use of recycling.
  • We make every effort to ensure the effective participation of all our employees in  our environmental management system and increase their level of consciousness  by training. We aim to enhance the awareness of our employees and stakeholders  about the environment

Energy Policy

  • We comply with the requirements of the Energy Management System, identify  and disseminate approaches and targets aligned with our corporate direction, and  continuously improve our energy performance through review activities.
  • We comply with legal regulations, standards, and other obligations in all our  activities within the framework of our Energy Management approaches.
  • As part of our Energy Management activities, we raise the awareness of our  employees and stakeholders regarding energy management. We ensure that our  policies and objectives are adopted by our employees. We support our employees’  awareness levels through training and encourage their participation in the  system.
  • We consider energy performance in the design and modification of our facilities,  equipment, systems, and processes. By purchasing energy-efficient products and  services, we prioritize designs that contribute to sustainable development and  improved energy performance. We undertake improvements in energy efficiency,  energy conservation, and alternative and renewable energy sources.

Human Rights Policy

  • We do not allow any discrimination against any employee or applicant for  employment because of individual’s religion, race, color, nationality, ethnicity,  gender identification or expression, age, disability, political opinion or any other  characteristic.
  • We apply disciplinary sanctions to the responsible person in case of identifying  any discrimination, mistreatment or any type of harassment.
  • We prohibit the use of forced and child labor and commit to provide safe and  healthy work environments.
  • We ensure that wage, working hours and benefits are in full compliance with  applicable laws.
  • We abide by the nationally and universally applicable international regulations  relating to worker’s accommodation standards and access to basic services  including safe food, water sanitation and waste management.
  • We implement a grievance mechanism for employees and their organizations to  raise their concerns.
  • We work with suppliers and subcontractors who meet our expectations with  respect to human rights.

  • Aksa Carbon’s health and safety rules and procedures are designed to provide a safe and healthy work  environment and meet applicable health and safety laws. Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment  relies heavily on the choices and behavior of individuals. Every employee must be aware of the rules and  procedures that apply to our workplace, diligently follow the rules, encourage others to do the same and  immediately report any unsafe situations or acts.
  • We ensure that application of HSE rules is adopted, applied and observed by all employees. Adequate  training on health & safety issues related to workers’ roles and tasks will be provided. Workers will be  fostered to report any concerns about health & safety issues.
  • We implement adequate training programs and exercises so as to enhance skills and capabilities of its  workers.
  • We ensure that chance to express concerns and comments about the operations to workers are provided and  appropriate response within a reasonable timeframe will be received by an adequate grievance mechanism  procedure.
  • We ensure that retrenchment issues are handled in compliance with national and international laws,  regulations and principles of non-discrimination. Retrenchment will comply with agreements with workers’  organizations.

Labor Health and Work Safety Policy

  • We evaluate all potential risks due to the working environment. In order to reduce  the risks to an acceptable level, we implement actions.

  • To ensure that all personnel read, understand and comply with the Quality Policy and  Objectives, being aware of the team spirit, to ensure the full participation of our employees  in order for our organization to achieve its goals and objectives, and to create a healthy, safe,  environmentally friendly and sustainable working environment in this direction,
  • To analyze current and future stakeholder expectations correctly and to provide the  highest level of satisfaction,
  • To work in accordance with international and national laws, regulations, professional  ethical rules,
  • To protect confidential information and proprietary rights of customers, to keep analysis  results reliably and to ensure that they are sent to them,
  • To ensure that all personnel adopt, implement the quality policies and being aware of  their responsibilities, and keep them away from all kinds of internal/external pressures  and effects that may adversely affect the quality of the work and the decisions of the  personnel,

  • We aim at minimizing impacts from the Projects activities to affected  communities by assessing social risks and applying all appropriate preventions  and mitigation measures.

  • We aim at establishing a transparent and mutually respectful relation with  communities.
  • We make every effort to implement engagement activities with affected  communities in a proactive manner, disclose Project related information through  appropriate and transparent means and ensure that any discrimination does not  occur in this process.
  • We evaluate all potential risks of the activities on the health of the communities;  implement necessary mitigation measures to decrease health and safety risks on  the community.
  • We make every effort to ensure that means to express concerns and comments  on the operations are provided to affected communities and appropriate response  within a reasonable timeframe will be received by an adequate grievance  mechanism procedure.
  • We aim at providing the security of activities, assets and staff in an appropriate  manner in order to avoid risks to workers’ and communities’ health and safety  creating from security arrangements.
  • We respect cultural background of the affected communities and conduct its  operations avoiding impacts on tangible and intangible cultural heritage.

Sustainability Policy

  • We determine all positive and negative environmental and social impacts of our activities, set, disseminate and review approaches and targets in accordance with national and international standards, and continuously improve our performance.
  • We adopt sustainable and environmentally friendly technologies and carry out project studies on the recycling and reuse of composite materials and research into bio sourced raw materials to accelerate decarbonisation. We are working to minimise greenhouse gas emissions, increase the use of renewable energy and reduce waste.
  • We develop and implement practices that will ensure improvement in the field of occupational health and safety in line with our priority focus areas, we follow international performance criteria in this field and share them with our stakeholders in our Sustainability Report every year.
  • We plan our investments taking into account the risks and opportunities associated with the climate crisis and its impacts.
  • We participate in and support social responsibility projects that support sustainable development such as education, bringing new talents to the sector, culture, arts and sports.
  • We support women’s participation in the labour force by being sensitive to gender equality.
  • With our accountable and responsible way of doing business, we transparently share all activities in our sphere of influence with our stakeholders.
  • We review our sustainability practices in line with global changes and transparently declare our performance and target metrics in our Sustainability Report.
